The vehicle's electrical equipment is designed using a single-wire circuit. The negative terminal of the consumer devices is connected to the body ("ground"), which functions as a second wire.

The nominal voltage of the on-board network is 12 V.

To protect electrical circuits, fuses are used, the color of which corresponds to the fuse protection current. The serviceability of a fuse is determined by the presence of a wire conductor connecting the fuse contacts.

When working on electrical equipment, remove the ground cable from the battery to prevent the possibility of short-circuiting electrical circuits.

The electrical equipment of a vehicle consists of ignition, power supply, starting, lighting and light signaling systems. In addition, the electrical equipment system includes control and measuring instruments and additional equipment.

Caution! To avoid damage to semiconductor devices (diodes and transistors), when working with electrical equipment, follow these requirements:
  • - Do not disconnect the battery, alternator or any electrical connectors while the engine is running;
  • - Do not hold the key in the ignition switch in the "Ignition on" position for more than 10 seconds if the engine does not start;
  • - Remove the negative battery cable before performing any work on the vehicle's electrical components;
  • - when carrying out electric welding work on a vehicle, turn off the alternator and the electronic control unit;
  • - Do not allow the engine to run with the generator disconnected from the electrical system;
  • - do not check the generator's serviceability by short-circuiting its terminals to ground.
