Sections of larger connectors, such as those mounted under the instrument panel, are connected together with a screw that goes through the center of the connector.
To disconnect a connector with a locking tab, use a small screwdriver to push the tab out, then disconnect the desired section of the connector. Inspect the connector carefully, as connector latches are often not visible at first glance. Many connectors have multiple locking latches.
Caution! When disconnecting the connector, do not pull the wires in different directions, as this may damage or tear the wires from the connector contact clamps.
