Caution! Be especially careful when working in the engine compartment.

When performing work in the engine compartment, adhere to the following recommendations.

Turn off the engine, remove the ignition key.

Apply the parking brake.

Set the gear shift lever to neutral position, the automatic transmission control selector to position "P".

Let the engine cool down.

While the engine is hot:
  • avoid placing your hands in the area where the engine cooling fan rotates, as it may suddenly start rotating;
  • do not open the coolant expansion tank cap, the cooling system is under pressure.

Avoid spilling liquids on a hot engine as they may ignite.

Avoid short-circuiting electrical circuits, especially the battery.

When performing inspection work on a running engine, beware of rotating parts (for example, V-belt pulleys, generator, cooling system fan blades, etc.) and high voltage in the ignition system.

Do not mix up the fluids when adding them - this will lead to serious disruptions in the operation of units and systems.

To promptly detect oil and fluid leaks, it is necessary to regularly inspect the parking area under the vehicle. If there are oil or operating fluid stains, check the tightness of the vehicle's units and systems at a service station.

When servicing or repairing the fuel system or electrical equipment, be sure to follow these recommendations:
  • always disconnect the battery from the vehicle's electrical system;
  • do not smoke near the engine;
  • never work near an open flame;
  • always keep a working fire extinguisher on hand.
