Turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Remove the spare tire from the tailgate.
Open the tailgate and support it with stands or jacks, placing a clean rag between them and the tailgate.
Remove the upholstery and dust and moisture protective film from the door.
Mark and disconnect all electrical connectors, wire clamps, and ground wire from the door.
Remove the protective corrugated cover from the door and pull the wires out of the door through the opening.
Remove the door opening limiter mounting bolts.
Use a marker to mark the position of the door hinges.

While an assistant supports the door, remove the hinge bolts from the door and remove the door from the vehicle (figure 14.42).
Install the luggage compartment door in the reverse order of removal.
Fix the dust and moisture protection film, installing it without folds or tears. The surface to which the dust and moisture protective film is applied must be perfectly clean.
