Check the condition of the door hinges by opening the door and lifting it up without lifting the body. If the door movement is more than 1.6 mm, replace the door hinges.
After installing the door, check that the gap around the perimeter of the door is the same everywhere, and also that the outer surface of the door is level with the rest of the body elements.
To adjust the gap around the door, loosen the bolts that secure the door hinges to the door and, by moving the door, adjust its position, then tighten the bolts. If it is not possible to adjust the door position in this way, then purchase and place adjustment plates under the hinges.
Close the door and check that the door lock contacts the center of the pawl, otherwise loosen the bolts and adjust the position of the pawl by moving it vertically.

Lastly, loosen the bolts and adjust the door lock pawl horizontally so that the trunk lid is level with the body elements (figure 14.43).
