Checking the condition and replacing the windshield wiper blades

1. The windshield wiper mechanism with replaceable blades should be periodically checked for damage, loose connections and wear of the blades.

2. During use, a "road film" forms on the brushes, which impairs their performance, so the brushes should be regularly washed in a solution of mild detergent.

3. The windshield wiper threads may become loose over time and should be checked and tightened as necessary, at the same time as checking the condition of the wiper blades.

4. If the wiper blades are cracked, heavily worn, or deformed, and as a result the windshield is not cleaned well, they must be replaced.

5. Remove the blade from the wiper arm by pressing the locking lever and pulling the assembly down, while simultaneously releasing it from the hook at the end of the arm (see Figure 6.5).

6. After removing the brush, you can disassemble it, removing the rubber band from the pressure block in order to replace it (see figure 6.6).

7. Insert the end of the new rubber band, aligning its side guides with the outer holder of the pressure block (see Figure 6.7) and pulling it through all the holders on the rocker arms.
