Checking the windshield wiper motor. First, find out if there is any damage to the electric motor and if there is power to it. This is done in the following way.
Disconnect the plug connection of the electric motor.
Connect power using two auxiliary wires to the electric motor directly from the battery:
- battery positive terminal wire to motor terminal 2;
- the second battery wire to the mass contact of the electric motor.
In this case, the electric motor must rotate in the first stage (slowly). If not, then the electric motor or the first control stage is damaged.
Connect the positive wire from the right near terminal 2 to terminal 1. The electric motor should now spin fast (stage 2).
Start the motor by briefly connecting and leave the cleaner in any position, except for the extreme one.
Bridge terminals 3 and 4.
Connect the positive battery cable to terminal 4 and the negative cable to the motor ground. Check if the electric motor stops in the end position.
Checking the rear window cleaner. Cars up to 4/87 of release. Connect the positive battery cable to terminal 3 of the plug, the negative cable to the motor housing and check that the motor is running. Model 5/87 vehicles have only three contacts on the electric motor. Here the positive wire is connected to the center terminal. In this case, the electric motor must work.
If the electric motor does not work, replace it.
