To apply the parking brake, pull the parking brake lever up firmly. If the road is on a steep incline, you should also engage first gear or engage the automatic transmission's parking lock (position "P"). Always fully engage the parking brake lever to prevent driving with the parking brake inadvertently released.
When the vehicle is braked with the parking brake and the ignition is on, the parking brake and brake fluid level indicator lights up and a buzzer sounds.
To release the parking brake, pull the lever up slightly, press the lock button and release the lever completely down.
