Turn the lid counterclockwise, remove it and hang it on the hook so as not to lose it.
When replacing the cover, turn it clockwise until it snaps into place.
Caution: When replacing the fuel cap, use only a genuine Toyota fuel cap, as it is designed to regulate the pressure in the fuel tank.
