Stop signal switch
The switch and switch position are indicated by arrows.
Check and replacement
1. The switch is located above the brake pedal.
2. If the switch does not close the contacts, then check the fuse and brake lamps.
3. If these parts are OK, then check the presence of voltage at the switch.
4. If there is no voltage, check the wires. Otherwise, make sure that when you press the pedal, voltage appears on the second contact. If there is no voltage, replace the switch. If voltage appears, but the lamps do not burn, then check the circuit from the switch to the lamps.
5. To replace, remove the lower trim of the steering column, disconnect the wires from the switch, unscrew the lock nut and remove the switch.
6. Install the switch in reverse order. Adjust switch.
