The brake light switch is mounted on a bracket near the top of the brake pedal (see Figure 11.44).

Check that the brake lights come on when you press the brake pedal and go out when you release it. Otherwise, check the integrity of the fuse in the switch's electrical circuit and the functionality of the brake light bulbs. If the fuse and bulbs are intact, adjust the switch's position.

If the brake lights still do not come on, check the power supply to the switch and the electrical circuit between the switch and the brake lights.

Replacement



Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake light switch.

Loosen the brake light switch lock nut and remove it from the brake pedal bracket (see figure 11.45).

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

After installation, adjust the brake pedal height and brake light switch position.
