Vehicle Identification Number Plate

The vehicle identification number plate is mounted on the driver's side windshield frame.
Used when registering a car. Car number plate (VIN number) is fixed to the windshield frame on the driver's side. The plate indicates the date of manufacture, manufacturer and body type.
Placement of the number on 4-cylinder engines

On 4-cylinder engines before 1990, the number is stamped on the right side of the cylinder block.
Placement of the number on 6-cylinder engines

On V6 engines, the number is also located on the left side of the block, next to the oil filter.
