  • 1. World manufacturer number for Toyota.
  • 2. Body shape (here: V = passenger car, combi, 2-door with double-leaf rear door).
  • 3. Empty space.
  • 4. Engine series (R = engine type 22R, petrol; L = engine type 2L-T, diesel).
  • 5. Model series (J = Land Cruiser).
  • 6. Model series with engine type (70 = vehicle base 2310 mm with engine type 22R or 2 LT; 73 = the vehicle's wheelbase is 2600 mm with a 2L-T engine type.
  • 7. Serial number.

Engine number location:
  • 22 R-motor: on the crankcase, in front, on the left, at the bottom (petrol.);
  • 2 LT engine: on the crankcase, in front, on the left, above the fuel injection pump (diesel).

Location of the standard/factory (factory) plate: in the engine compartment, on the front of the body, on the left.
