In the automotive industry, the process of modernization is continuous, it is not reflected in publications and occurs independently of the main changes of models. Since catalogs and lists of spare parts are compiled according to part numbers, proper identification numbers are absolutely necessary for the correct selection of the required elements.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

The vehicle identification number is stamped on a plate attached to the front panel on the driver's side near the windshield (see fig.). In addition, it is indicated on the registration label located on the pillar in the driver's door opening. The VIN is also indicated on the vehicle registration certificate. It contains information about where and when the vehicle was manufactured, the model year and the body type.

Passport label

The identification label is attached to the panel in the driver's door opening (see fig.). It contains information about the name of the manufacturer, month and year of manufacture, gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), gross axle load rating (GAWR), and certification information.

Engine number

On models with four-cylinder engines, the engine identification number is stamped on a machined boss on the front of the engine, near the exhaust manifold (see fig.).
