Vehicle identification number (VIN)
The vehicle identification number is embossed on a plate affixed to the dashboard on the driver's side near the windshield (see fig.). In addition, it is indicated on the passport label located on the rack in the driver's door opening. The VIN is also listed on the vehicle's registration certificate. It contains information about where and when the car was made, model year and body style.
Passport label
Passport label affixed to the panel in the driver's door opening (see fig.). It contains information about the name of the manufacturer, the month and year of manufacture, the gross vehicle weight (GVWR), full axle load (GAWR) and certification information.
Engine number
On models with four-cylinder engines, the engine identification number is stamped on a machined lug on the front of the engine, near the exhaust manifold (see fig.).
On models with a V6 engine, the engine identification number is stamped on the non-machined lug on the left end (on the driver's side) cylinder block (see pic).
