Reduce speed gradually without changing direction.

Pull over to the side of the road and stop on a level, hard-surfaced area.

Stop the engine and turn on the hazard warning lights.

Move the lever to position P (on automatic transmission) or put it in reverse (on a manual transmission), put the car on the handbrake.

Ask passengers to exit the vehicle.

Always follow these safety precautions when using the jack:
  • follow the instructions supplied with the jack;
  • use the jack only to lift the car when changing a wheel;
