Types of repairs performed without removing the engine from the car [Toyota 4Runner N120]

Without removing the engine from the vehicle, the following work can be performed:

• replace gaskets and seals.
• remove mounted units and assemblies for replacement or repair.
• carry out repairs (or replacement) cylinder heads, pumps, valve drive mechanisms, drive parts of attachments.
• carry out adjustment work.

The crank mechanism, pistons and rings are changed (are being repaired) after dismantling the engine (see subsection 3.3.5).
