This manual covers Toyota Highlander and Lexus RX 3G0/330. Highlander models are equipped with a four-cylinder or V6 engine, while Lexus RX 300/330 models are equipped with a V6 engine only.
On front wheel drive models (2WD) The front wheel drive is realized through a four- or five-speed automatic transmission in a block with a driving axle and independent driving axle shafts. Not models with all-wheel drive (4WD) the rear wheels are also driven. The drive of the rear wheels is realized through a cardan shaft, a rear differential and two rear axle shafts.
The suspension of all four wheels is independent, MacPherson struts are used front and rear. A rack and pinion steering mechanism is installed on the front suspension cross member.
Both front and rear disc brakes are used. A vacuum brake booster is installed as standard equipment. All models are equipped with anti-lock brakes (ABS).
