Front and rear flange seals — replacement [Toyota 4Runner N120]

1. Raise the car.

2. Remove the driveshaft (front or back).


3. Uncounter (bend back the flange) (photo on the left) and unscrew the flange nut (photo on the right).



4. Remove the flange, use a puller if necessary.



5. Carefully pry up and remove the seal.

6. Lubricate the lips of the new seal with petroleum jelly.





7. Press the seal in with a mandrel.

8. If necessary, replace the small flange seal in the same manner.

9. Then assembly is carried out in reverse order.
