1. Remove the damaged panel if needed or desired. In most cases, repairs can be performed without removing the panel from its original location.
2. Clean the area (s), to be repaired with a mastic remover, grease and silicone. Apply the product with a cloth dampened with water.
3. If the damage is penetrating, also clean the back of the panel in the repair area. Wipe dry.
4. Treat the back surface at a distance of approximately 35 mm around the perimeter of the hole.
5. Cut out two pieces of fiberglass that are large enough to cover the hole by approximately 35mm. Cut out pieces of the required size.
6. Mix the adhesive from the repair kit according to the instructions included with the kit and apply a layer of adhesive approximately 3mm thick to the back of the panel. The hole should be covered by at least 35 mm.
7. Lay one piece of fiberglass over the adhesive layer and apply additional adhesive to the fabric. Apply a second piece of non-adhesive fiberglass and immediately apply additional adhesive to the fabric, sufficient to fill in the weaves of the fabric fibers.
8. Allow the adhesive to cure for 20-30 minutes at 15-25°C.
9. If necessary, cut off excess fabric at the edges.
10. Completely remove the paintwork in and around the repair area. The material used for the repair must not fall on an unbaptized surface.
11. With electric drill and grinding wheel (or cutters) cut a V-groove along the crack/fault line approximately 12 mm wide. Carefully remove dust and chips from the repair area.
12. Prepare and inject repair material. Apply a thin layer first to the undamaged area, and then continue to apply the material until it slightly rises above the adjacent area as well.
13. Allow the mixture to cure for 20-30 minutes at 15-25°C.
14. Pre-treat the repair area with a file. If there are outcrops or ridges on the surface, apply additional adhesive.
15. Treat the repair area with unexpected paper, bringing the surface flush with the surrounding surface.
16. If desired, the repair area can be temporarily protected by applying several thin layers of primer to it. Taking into account the need to use special enamels and technological methods when repairing plastic body panels, it is recommended to entrust car painting to specialists of a paint shop.
