The rear side doors are designed with an additional child safety device that prevents them from being opened from inside the vehicle (figure 1.19).
To engage the latch, open the rear door and move the lever to the "LOCK" position. The interior door handle is now locked, and the door can only be opened from the outside.
To disengage the safety latch, open the rear door and turn the lever in the opposite direction. Now the door can be opened from the inside again.
