Checking the oil level in the manual transmission
1. The manual transmission does not have an oil dipstick. To check the oil level, place the car on an inspection pit, a lift, or, by raising the front and rear parts with a jack, place it on safety supports. Remove the lower protective cover. At the front of the manual transmission housing you will see a check and fill plug (see Figure 17.1).

Wipe away any dirt around the plug and unscrew it. The oil level should reach the bottom edge of the filler hole.
2. If the manual transmission requires oil top-up (the level does not reach the edge of the hole), use a syringe or a special pump. Stop adding oil when oil starts to flow out of the hole.
3. Replace the cap and tighten securely by lowering the vehicle and driving it for a short distance to ensure there are no leaks.
