Vehicle control unit (EDU)
Examination
1. The EDU unit is located in the right rear corner of the engine compartment, under the plastic panel below the windshield. The EDU unit separately controls the injectors when the engine is running at high speeds, generating a high-voltage pulse voltage. It would be better to entrust the unit check to specialists from a Toyota dealership service center.
Removal
2. Remove the plastic panel under the windshield (see chapter 11).
3. Disconnect the two wiring connectors.
4. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the EDU unit.
Installation
5. Installation of the accelerator pedal position sensor is carried out in the reverse order of its removal. Tighten the mounting bolts securely.
