Examination

1. The power steering fluid reservoir is mounted on the left side of the engine. The plug is loosened by turning it counterclockwise. 2. The test is performed with the engine off and the front wheels in a straight-ahead position.

3. To check the fluid level, unscrew and remove the tank cap along with the built-in dipstick, wipe the dipstick and screw the cap back in (wipe the tank first). Remove the plug again and check the level along the edge of the fluid film on the dipstick. The fluid level should be in the Cold range (if the liquid is cold), or in the Hot range (if the liquid is hot).
4. If the fluid level drops frequently, check for leaks in the power steering circuit and eliminate the cause.
