Automatic transmission dipstick

Automatic transmission dipstick (indicated by the arrow) is located at the rear of the engine compartment.

Transmission Fluid Level Check Marks

1. Normal level (for cold liquid)
2. Normal level (for hot liquid)

The level should be between the arrows.

Examination

1. Insufficient or excessive fluid level in the automatic transmission leads to failure of the unit. 2. The level should be checked after driving in normal mode for a distance of 16 km (in warm weather), so that the liquid warms up to operating temperature (at least 60–70°C). After a long trip or a trip with a heavy load, wait at least 30 minutes.

3. Place the car on a level horizontal surface, apply the handbrake, start the engine and press the brake pedal. Move the selector lever from position P through the entire range and return to position P.

4. Remove the dipstick from the pipe (the engine continues to idle), wipe the dipstick.

5. Reinsert the dipstick into the nozzle.

6. Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level. The level should be in the range marked Hot. When the transmission is cold, the level should be in the Cold range. If you need to add fluid, carefully pour the required amount of fluid of the appropriate brand through the pipe.

7. Add liquid through the funnel in small portions (the amount of liquid between the Hot marks is approximately 0.57 l.

8. If the liquid is black or has a "burnt" smell, the liquid must be replaced (see subsection 2.35).
