Gearbox housing supports — inspection and replacement [Toyota 4Runner N120]

1. Insert the pry bar between the crossbar and the support pad and rock it.

2. The crankcase should not be displaced much from the support. If wear of the support is detected, (rubber peeling), replace the support.


3. Place a jack or support under the gearbox housing and unscrew the nuts and bolts of the supports (the photo on the left shows the bolts for fastening the gearbox of rear-wheel drive vehicles, the photo on the right shows the bolts for the support and crossmember of the gearbox of all-wheel drive vehicles).

4. Lift the crankcase and remove the support.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
