Gearbox control lever — removal and installation [Toyota 4Runner N120]

1. Remove the center section of the front panel (see subsection 10.24).


2. Unscrew the lever handle (photo on the left). Remove 4 screws (shown by arrows in the photo on the right), remove the cover and flange.



3. On some 4WD vehicles, the covers for both levers are secured with one flange.


4. Remove the small gearshift lever boot (photo on the left). On some gearboxes, push the lever in and turn it counterclockwise (photo on the right).





5. Remove the lever.



6. Installation is performed in the reverse order. Lubricate the friction surfaces of the lever with consistent grease.
