The car is equipped with three-point seat belts.
By adjusting the height of the front seat belt attachment points, you can achieve the best placement of the shoulder belt.
Adjust the front seat belt height as follows.
Press the latch and slide the upper seat of the belt up or down so that the shoulder branch passes through the middle of the shoulder and in no case through the throat, then release the latch.
After adjustment, pull the belt to make sure that the upper belt support is securely locked.

The degree of safety of the driver and passengers fastened with seat belts is ensured by the installation of pretensioners 3 (pic. 1.34) seat belts and pressure limiters.
In moderate to severe frontal collisions, pyrotechnic pretensioners instantly press the driver's and passenger's bodies against the seatbacks.
The pyrotechnic seat belt pretensioner system only works when the ignition is on. Pressure limiters reduce the amount of force the seat belts exert on the body of the driver and front passenger in the event of a collision.
Deployment of the pretensioners is monitored by airbag sensor 4.
Warning! Do not remove or repair the seat belt pretensioners, airbag sensor, or wiring. Doing so may cause them to operate unexpectedly or render the system unusable, resulting in serious injury.
The seat belt pretensioner system includes a control indicator to inform the driver about the operation of the system. This indicator comes on when the ignition key is turned to the «ACC» or «ON» and goes out after 6 s. This means that the front seat belt pretensioners are working properly. If the following conditions occur, contact a Toyota authorized service center as soon as possible.
1. The indicator does not light up when the ignition key is turned to the «ACC» or «ON» and continues to burn.
2. The indicator lights up or starts flashing while driving.
3. If any of the front seat belts do not retract into the retractable reel or cannot be extended due to malfunction or deployment of the pretensioners.
4. Damage to the front seat belt pretensioners or areas near them.

5. Traffic accident affecting the front of the car (the shaded area shown in Fig. 1.35), but did not trigger the pretensioners.
6. Scratches, cracks or other damage to the pretensioners.
Safety belt with two attachment points
To check and adjust the belt, sit up straight and slide the seat as far back as possible. To fasten the seat belt, insert its plate into the buckle. When locking the plate in the lock, you will hear a click.
If the belt is not long enough for you, pull on the belt plate while holding it at right angles to it.
