Airbags in no way replace seat belts and are one of the important elements of the passive safety of the car. It should be borne in mind that the greatest effectiveness of the airbags is achieved only when used in conjunction with seat belts with a force limiter.
In the event of a collision, electronic impact sensors register and instantly analyze the amount of sudden deceleration of the car. If the airbag deployment threshold is reached upon impact, they are instantly ejected and filled with working gas and, inflating, unfold in front of the driver and passenger.
By resting the driver and front passenger in fully inflated air bags, the forward movement of their bodies due to inertia is damped, and the risk of injury to the head and upper body is significantly reduced.
The air bag is designed in such a way that in a frontal impact, under the influence of the load from the body of the driver or a passenger sitting next to him, a controlled release of gas from the pillow to mitigate the impact of the head and upper body, while they are reduced in volume. This is provided in order not to interfere with visibility and the ability to quickly leave the car.
The filling of the pillow occurs at a high speed in a matter of fractions of a second, which provides reliable protection in case of an accident.
The appearance of a large amount of fine dust in the cabin when the airbags are inflated is considered normal and cannot be a cause for concern.
The airbags only work when the ignition is on.
Note. The gas escaping from the pillow may be a minor irritant.
Attention! The maximum protective effect of the seat belts and airbags is only achieved when the seats are properly adjusted.
Attention! Sit in a natural upright posture.
Attention! Do not place anything between front seat occupants and the airbags (animals, children or any objects). They may interfere with the operation of the airbags or injure people sitting in the front seats.
Attention! Do not drive the vehicle by holding the steering wheel by the spokes or place your hands on the steering wheel hub.
Attention! Passengers are not allowed to put their feet on the front panel.
Attention! Avoid smoking if possible, as airbag inflation may result in burns or injury from a cigarette or pipe.
