Note: Recommended frequency: every 24,000 km or 12 months.
The manual transmission does not have a gauge for measuring the oil level.
Place the vehicle on a lift in a horizontal position.
Remove the lower engine compartment splash shield.

Unscrew the filler plug 1 (figure 2.24), located on the front side of the gearbox housing. Use your finger to check the oil level, which should be at the lower edge of the threaded hole.
If necessary, add oil through the oil filler hole.
Replace the filler plug and tighten it to 48 N·m. Perform a test drive and check for leaks through the plug.
