Check and make sure they are correct. If belts are removed for any reason, ensure they are properly installed.
For trouble-free operation of the tensioner, keep the seat belts clean.
Attention! Replace the straps if the buckles or tensioner are damaged.
Warning! Also replace belts that have been severely stretched in an accident.
Attention! When exposed to sunlight and chemicals, the belt tape loses its strength. A sign of aging of the belt material may be the loss of the original color (discoloration). Replace this belt too.
Attention! Always replace belts as a set. It is forbidden to install buckles and belt tensioners that are not intended for this seat, or from other vehicles.
Check the condition of all belt attachment points. The mounting bolts must be securely tightened. Remove any signs of corrosion where the belt attaches to the body. Replace the fastening parts affected by corrosion.
Replace the belts also if the following damage is found:
- thread breaks or «fraying»;
- cuts on the loops on the edges of the belt;
- curvature of the braid;
- the presence of crumbled areas or cuts;
- insufficiently reliable fixation of the belt;
- loosening the belt release button;
- the buckle does not release the belt;
- increased effort required to release the belt;
- there are cracks on the surface of the buckle.
