crankshaft position sensor (CKP — Crankshaft Position Sensor) - Provides PCM information about the position and speed of the crankshaft.
Camshaft position sensor (CMP — Camshaft Position Sensor) on models since 1998, it generates pulses, based on which the PCM identifies the first cylinder and the injector opening time.
Air fuel mixture sensor (A/F Sensor — Air/ Fuel Sensor) on models since 2001, it is mounted on top of the catalytic converter and works similarly to the oxygen sensor.
coolant temperature sensor (ECT — Engine Coolant Temperature) monitors the coolant temperature and, based on the signal from the PCM sensor, changes the air-fuel ratio in the mixture, the ignition timing and actuates the exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR).
Intake air temperature sensor (IAT — Intake Air Temperature) on models up to 2001, it transmits information about the temperature of the air entering the engine. Based on the information received, the PCM controls the flow of fuel, changes the ignition timing and activates the exhaust gas reburning system (EGR).
Throttle position sensor (TPS — Throttle Position Sensor) transmits information from which the PCM determines when the throttle is closed, fully open, or in between positions.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP — Manifold Absolute Pressure) on models up to 2001, measures the amount (volume) air entering the engine.
Air flow meter sensor (MAF — Mass Airflow Sensor) on models since 2001, measures the mass of air entering the engine.
Vehicle speed sensor (VSS — Vehicle Speed Sensor) measures and transmits to the PCM information about the vehicle's instantaneous speed.
Fuel vapor pressure control sensor (Vapor Pressure Sensor) used to control the vapor pressure in the fuel vapor recovery system. PCM, based on the information received, controls the vacuum valves (VSV) in the fuel vapor recovery system.
Power Steering Switch (PSP — Power Steering Pressure) used to increase the idle speed when maneuvering the vehicle.
Transmission sensors. In addition to the vehicle speed sensor, the PCM receives information from the following sensors in the transmission: the clutch speed sensor and the vehicle speed sensor.
