Crankshaft position sensor (CKP — Crankshaft Position Sensor) – transmits information to the PCM about the position and rotation speed of the crankshaft.
Camshaft position sensor (CMP - Camshaft Position Sensor) on models produced since 1998 generates pulses on the basis of which the PCM identifies the first cylinder and the injector opening time.
Air-fuel ratio sensor (A/F Sensor - Air/Fuel Sensor) on 2001 and later models is installed on top of the catalytic converter and works similarly to an oxygen sensor.
Coolant temperature sensor (ECT - Engine Coolant Temperature) monitors the coolant temperature and, based on the signal from the PCM sensor, changes the air-fuel ratio, ignition timing and activates the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system.
Engine air temperature sensor (IAT — Intake Air Temperature) on models before 2001 transmits information about the temperature of the air entering the engine. Based on the information received, the PCM controls the fuel flow, changes the ignition timing and activates the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system.
Throttle position sensor (TPS - Throttle Position Sensor) transmits information that allows the PCM to determine when the throttle valve is closed, fully open, or in between.
Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure) on models prior to 2001 measures the amount (volume) of air entering the engine.
Air flow meter sensor (MAF — Mass Airflow Sensor) on models since 2001 measures the mass of air entering the engine.
Vehicle speed sensor (VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor) measures and transmits information about the instantaneous speed of the vehicle to the PCM.
Fuel vapor pressure monitoring sensor (Vapor Pressure Sensor) used to monitor vapor pressure in the fuel vapor recovery system. Based on the information received, the PCM controls the vacuum valves (VSV) in the fuel vapor recovery system.
Power steering switch (PSP - Power Steering Pressure) is used to increase the idle speed when maneuvering the vehicle.
Transmission sensors. In addition to the vehicle speed sensor, the PCM receives information from the following sensors in the transmission: the clutch speed sensor and the vehicle speed sensor.
