Power steering fluid reservoir level
1. Unlike conventional steering, power steering uses fluid, the level of which must be checked periodically.
2. The power steering pump reservoir is mounted on the right suspension strut mounting panel (see picture).
The power steering fluid reservoir is located on the right side of the engine compartment, mounted on the upper strut support mounting panel - the fluid level is visible through the plastic reservoir.
3. To check the level, you need to set the front wheels straight ahead and turn off the engine.
4. Using a clean cloth, thoroughly wipe the tank lid and the tank itself to prevent foreign impurities from getting in during the inspection.
5. Unscrew the cap and use your finger to check the temperature of the liquid at the end of the dipstick.
6. Look at the fluid level through the translucent tank body. The level should never fall below the upper limit of each temperature range.
7. When necessary, add only the fluid type specified in the specification. Use a funnel to avoid drips.
8. If you need to constantly add fluid to the reservoir, you must definitely figure out the cause of the leak. Carefully inspect all hydraulic steering system hoses and connections, the power steering pump and the rack and pinion steering gear.
