Rear differential oil change (every 30,000 km or every 2 years) [Toyota RAV4 XA20]

Changing the oil in the rear differential

1. Raise the rear of the vehicle with a jack and install safety stands.

2. Unscrew the drain plug and drain the oil (see Figure 21.2).

3. Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque.

4. Fill with new oil until it reaches the bottom edge of the filler hole (see paragraph 21 and section "Liquids and lubricants").
