Caution: If the vehicle is equipped with electronically controlled air suspension, turn off the ride height control switch.
37. The transfer case is not equipped with a dipstick for measuring the level. To check the fluid level, lift the car and place reliable supports under it. There is a control plug on the back of the transfer case housing (Fig. 4.37). Unscrew it. If the oil level is normal, it should correspond to the lower edge of the control hole.

38. If the gearbox requires oil topping up (the level does not reach the hole), add oil using a syringe or a special device for filling transmission oil. Stop filling the gearbox when oil begins to flow out of the hole.

39. Replace the plug and tighten it securely. Drive the car a short distance and then check for leaks.
