Checking the oil level in the transfer case [Toyota 4Runner N120]

1. Unscrew the upper plug at the rear of the transfer case housing.



2. The oil level should be near the lower edge of the hole (A – inspection/filling hole, B – drain hole in the transfer case housing).

3. If the oil level is insufficient, add oil of the required grade through the inspection hole.

4. Tighten the plug. Check for leaks over several kilometers.
