40. Raise the vehicle and place reliable supports under it.

Caution: If the vehicle is equipped with electronically controlled air suspension, turn off the ride height control switch.


41. Using a suitable wrench, remove the plug from the rear differential (Fig. 4.41).

42. Use your little finger to reach inside the crankcase to feel the oil level. The level should be at or slightly below the bottom of the hole. If it does not, use a syringe or squeeze bottle to add the recommended oil through the same hole.

43. Screw in the plug and tighten it securely. Drive it for a short distance (several kilometers), and then check for leaks.
