Place the vehicle on a lift in a horizontal position.

Place a container to collect the oil under the transfer case drain plug. Remove the drain plug (figure 2.45). After draining the oil, replace the plug.
Remove the threaded filler plug.
Fill the oil through the oil filler hole to the bottom edge of the hole. Tighten the filler cap.
Take a test drive and check for leaks through the screw plugs.
