The crankcase ventilation valve and hose are located in the cylinder head cover. On vehicles produced before 2001, they are installed in the O-ring on the cylinder head cover (pic. 2.46). On vehicles manufactured since 2001, they are screwed on the left side of the cylinder head cover (pic. 2.47).

Remove the crankcase ventilation valve. On vehicles manufactured before 2001, pull it out of the O-ring. On vehicles manufactured since 2001, remove the hose from the valve, unscrew the valve and put the hose back on it.
Start the engine. At idle speed, use your finger to check for vacuum at the valve. If there is no vacuum, check the condition of the valve and the condition of the hose. To check the valve, disconnect the hose from it. When purging the valve from the side where the valve is attached to the head cover, the valve must pass air freely. When purging the valve from the other side, the valve should hardly pass a small amount of air. Otherwise, replace the valve.
