Relieve pressure in the fuel system.
The filter is mounted on the firewall below the air filter housing and the fuse and relay box. Remove the air filter housing and the relay and fuse box.

Use a wrench to remove the top hollow bolt and loosen the threaded fitting at the base of the fuel filter (figure 2.29).
Remove the bolts securing the fuel filter bracket to the firewall and remove the old filter along with the bracket.
Mark the location of the fuel inlet and outlet hoses on the fuel filter, making sure the filter flange is facing downwards. Disconnect the hoses from the old filter and connect them to the new filter. Install the filter with the fuel inlet hose facing up and the fuel outlet hose facing down.
Note: Recommended frequency: every 50,000 km or 24 months.
Screw the threaded fitting onto the filter base. Screw the hollow bolt with new washers into the top of the filter and tighten it to 28 N·m.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
