Turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire «masses» from the battery.
Remove the gearbox.
Pic. 8.7. Opening the retaining spring before removing the clutch release fork from the ball stud
Release the retaining spring and remove the clutch release fork from the ball pin stud, then remove the clutch release bearing (pic. 8.7).
Clutch release bearing check produce as follows:
Check the condition of the release bearing, which should rotate easily, evenly and silently, and there should be no play in it.
The working surface of the bearing acting on the pressure spring must be smooth, without cracks, local corrosion or wear.
Do not flush the bearing by immersing it in solvent.
Installing the clutch release bearing produce as follows:
Apply a thin coat of high temperature grease to the following parts (the lubricant layer must be thin and uniform, otherwise, during clutch operation, excess lubricant will be thrown onto the clutch working surfaces, which can disrupt its operation):
- the inner cavity of the clutch release bearing;
- splines of the input shaft of the gearbox;

- clutch release bearing guide (pic. 8.8);
- paws of the clutch release fork in contact with the clutch release bearing;

- at the contact point of the clutch release fork with the ball pin (pic. 8.9).
Install the bearing on the clutch release fork.
Install the bearing onto the bearing guide bushing on the front of the gearbox with the fork in the hole in the clutch housing.
Press the fork until it is clearly fixed on the pin with a ball pin.
Apply a thin coat of high temperature grease to the clutch release bearing contact surface of the diaphragm spring.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
