Removal
Attention! Some cars are equipped with an airbag, which is located in a container in the center of the steering wheel. To prevent accidental activation of the system, turn the ignition switch to the Lock position, disconnect the battery from ground and wait at least 2 minutes.
1. Set the steering wheel to the straight ahead position and disconnect the battery from ground.
2. Disconnect the airbag container (if provided) (cm. subsection 11.44).

3. Pry up and remove the plugs located on the side of the steering wheel.

4. Unscrew the screws (with cross head) fastening the container with the airbag. Unscrew the screws so that the screw groove enters the edge of the shell. Stop unscrewing the screws immediately.

5. Lift the body.

6. Release the latch and remove the airbag connector.

7. Disconnect any connectors that may interfere with the removal of the steering wheel (for example, the audio signal connector).

8. Loosen the nut and mark the position of the steering wheel relative to the shaft.

9. Press the steering wheel with a puller. Do not remove the steering wheel by hitting the hub.
Warning! Once the steering wheel has been removed, it is prohibited to turn the shaft (or wheels), because the spiral wire will be disturbed and the wire will break, which will prevent the airbag from deploying in an accident. If this happens accidentally, restore the centering before installing the steering wheel.
10. Check the alignment of the airbag coil wire.

11. To do this, make sure that the wheels are set in a straight position and turn the reel body counterclockwise until it stops and turn it clockwise 3 turns, aligning the marks.
Installation
12. The steering wheel is installed in reverse order.
13. Align the marks and tighten the nut to the specified torque.
