Removal
Warning! Some vehicles are equipped with an airbag, which is located in a container in the center of the steering wheel. To prevent accidental activation of the system, disconnect the battery from the ground and wait at least 90 seconds (backup capacitor discharge time).
1. Set the steering wheel to the straight ahead position and disconnect the battery from ground.

2. Remove the plugs on the sides of the steering wheel and unscrew the screws that secure the container with the cushion. Unscrew the screws until the groove on the screw head goes into the edge of the shell.
3. Remove the airbag container and disconnect the connector. Always keep the container cover facing away from you. Place the container with the airbag so that the cover faces up.
4. On vehicles without an airbag, remove the horn mounting screws.

5. Unscrew the nut and mark the position of the steering wheel relative to the shaft. Rotation of the shaft after removal of the steering wheel is not allowed.

6. Press the steering wheel with a puller. Do not remove the steering wheel by hitting the hub.
Installation
1. Install the steering wheel onto the shaft.

2. If the front wheels of cars with an airbag were accidentally turned, it is necessary to center the spiral wire of the airbag. To do this, make sure that the wheels are set in a straight position and turn the coil body counterclockwise until it stops and unscrew it clockwise by 3 turns, aligning the red marks.
3. The steering wheel is installed in the reverse order. Align the marks and tighten the nut to the specified torque. Connect the connector to the airbag.
