Removing
Attention! Some cars are equipped with an airbag, which is located in a container in the center of the steering wheel. To prevent accidental operation of the system, disconnect the battery from the ground and wait at least 90 seconds (reserve capacitor discharge time).
1. Set the steering wheel to the straight ahead position and disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. Remove the plugs on the sides of the steering wheel and unscrew the screws securing the container with the pillow. Loosen the screws until the groove on the head of the screw comes into the edge of the shell.
3. Remove the airbag container and disconnect the connector. Keep the cover of the container away from you at all times. Lay the container with the pillow so that the lining is facing up.
4. On vehicles without an airbag, remove the horn mounting screws.
5. Unscrew the nut and mark the position of the steering wheel relative to the shaft. Rotation of the shaft after removal of the steering wheel is not allowed.
6. Press the steering wheel with a puller. It is forbidden to remove the steering wheel by hitting the hub.
Installation
1. Install the steering wheel on the shaft.
2. If, on vehicles with an airbag, the front wheels are accidentally turned, the airbag spiral wire must be centered. To do this, make sure that the wheels are set in a straight position and turn the coil body counterclockwise until it stops and unscrew it 3 turns clockwise, aligning the red marks.
3. The steering wheel is installed in the reverse order. Align the marks and tighten the nut to the specified torque. Connect the connector to the airbag.
