Before starting the engine, set the automatic transmission lever to the position «R» or «N», or with a manual transmission, shift into neutral and depress the clutch pedal. Release the key as soon as the engine starts. He will return to position «ON». Do not start the starter without interruption for more than 15 seconds.
«ON» - the motor and all current consumers are switched on.
This is the normal driving position of the ignition switch. The key must not remain in position «ON», if the engine is not running. In this case, the battery would begin to discharge and the ignition system could be damaged.
«ACC» — current consumers such as radio are switched on, but the motor is stopped.
«LOCK» - the steering wheel is locked. The key can only be removed in this position.
To turn the key to position «LOCK» from the provisions «ON» or «ACC», you need to press the release button. If the key gets stuck in the position when starting the engine «LOCK», first make sure the key is fully inserted, and then carefully turn the key until the steering wheel moves back and forth.
While the vehicle is moving, under no circumstances should the steering wheel unlock button be pressed or the key turned to the «LOCK» or remove the key, as this will lock the steering wheel and make it impossible to steer the vehicle. If it is necessary to stop the engine while driving, the key must only be turned to the position «ACC». Never press the unlock button or remove the key.
