Details of the front suspension strut

Attention! Keep in mind that the procedure for removing the springs is extremely dangerous. To compress the springs, use a standard proven device.
When replacing springs or shock absorbers individually, keep in mind that the cost of individual parts is only slightly lower than the strut assemblies.
1. Raise the front of the car and remove the front wheels.
2. Loosen the nut (arrow) and a bolt of fastening of a rack to the lower arm.
3. Loosen the three nuts securing the strut to the frame bracket (indicated by arrows).
Attention! Do not loosen the central nut.
4. Remove the stand.
5. Check up a condition of shock-absorbers, existence of dents, cracks and traces of a leak.
6. Check the condition of the coils of the springs and the strength of the support cups.
7. At detection of damages shock-absorbers and springs replace.
8. Install the new rack in reverse order.
9. Clamp the bottom of the rack in a vise through the spacers.
10. Compress the spring with the tool to release the top plate.
11. Turn out the stem nut, holding the stem from turning with a wrench.
12. Remove the plate, cushion and top cup.
13. Remove the compressed spring and store in a safe place.
14. Remove the bottom plate and cushion.
15. Check the condition of the pillows and plates, replace damaged parts with cracks and deformations.
16. Assembly and installation are carried out in the reverse order.
