Upper arm
1. Cotter pin; 2. Sleeve; 3. Lever
Attention! The procedure applies to rear- and all-wheel drive vehicles.
Removal and installation
1. Raise the front of the car.
2. Remove the caliper and set aside.
3. Disconnect the wires from the speed sensor (if there is an ABS system).
4. Raise the lower control arm with a jack. Do not remove the jack.
5. Loosen the nut, remove the washer and axle.
6. Check the condition of the bushings.
7. If bushings are damaged (cracks, wear), then replace (bushings are replaced in a car service).
8. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
9. Tighten the nut to the specified torque.
Attention! Tighten the nut only after lowering the vehicle, on a level surface. You can also simulate the load on the arm by lifting the lower arm with a jack.
10. On rear-wheel drive vehicles, check and adjust wheel alignment.
