Steering knuckle — removal and installation [Toyota 4Runner N120]

1. Raise the front of the car and remove the wheels.



2. Remove the speed sensor (the arrow indicates the bolt).

3. Remove the brake caliper.

4. Remove the brake disc.


5. Remove the brake shield (on the left are the brake shield bolts on rear-wheel drive vehicles, on the right are the brake shield bolts on all-wheel drive vehicles).

6. Disconnect the steering tie rod end from the knuckle.

7. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut (don't turn away), then use a puller to press the ball joint pin out of the upper arm.



8. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut (don't turn away) lower support (indicated by the arrow).



9. Using a puller, press out the lower support pin.

10. Disconnect the knuckle from the suspension arms and remove.

11. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.
