1. The crankcase ventilation spool is located in the cylinder head cover.
2. With the engine warm and idling, remove the spool with hose from the cylinder head cover or intake manifold.
3. Plug the spool with your finger or pinch the hose. If vacuum is not felt, then check the cleanliness of the hose, the holes in the manifold, or the spool itself. Replace contaminated or failed part.
4. Stop the engine and shake the spool. If the knock is not heard, then replace the spool. To do this, disconnect the hose and put it on a new spool. When purchasing a spool, it should be taken into account that the new spool exactly matches the make of the car and engine (compare the new spool with the one being replaced).
5. Check the condition of all hoses and seals. Replace if cracked or hardened.
6. Insert the spool into place.
