1. The condition of the filter should be checked between replacements.
2. On 3.4L V6 engines, the filter is mounted on the right side of the engine compartment.
3. On 3.0L V6 engines, the filter is mounted on the left side of the engine compartment.
4. Detach the latches. Disconnect any hoses from the air filter housing that may interfere with filter removal. Remove the cover, thereby providing access to the element to be replaced (the arrows indicate the latches on the filter housing).
5. Take out the filter element.
6. Inspect the outer surface of the element, blow it first from the inside, and then from the outside with compressed air, after making sure that the element is intact and that there is no oiling. If purge fails, replace the filter element.
7. The filter element is installed in reverse order.
