2. Unscrew the filler plug. Make sure that the oil level in the crankcase is under the edge of the filler plug hole. If necessary, add oil to the crankcase.
3. Change the oil if necessary.
- a) Warm up the oil in the manual transmission (in the transfer case) — to do this you need to travel several kilometers.
- b) To drain the oil, unscrew the filler and drain plugs. (Be careful not to burn yourself with hot oil). After draining the oil, screw in and tighten the drain plug.
Note: see the assembly drawing in the chapter "Manual gearbox" for the location of the plugs. The gearbox type is stamped on the aluminum plate attached to the engine compartment bulkhead - in the line "TRANS/AXLE".
2WD models:
- Oil class according to API - GL-3, GL-4 or ATF(R) DEXRONII
- Recommended viscosity - SAE 75W-90, 80W-90
- Filling volume - 2.6 l
4WD models:
- Oil class according to API — GL-5
- Recommended viscosity according to SAE - 75W-90
- Filling volume: 4.5 l
