When starting the engine from a booster battery, take the following precautions into account:
  • a) Before connecting the auxiliary battery, turn off the ignition.
  • b) Turn off all electrical equipment (lighting fixtures, heater, windshield wipers, etc.).
  • c) Wear protective gloves and glasses.
  • d) Make sure the booster battery is rated for the same voltage as yours.
  • d) If the battery of another vehicle is used as an auxiliary battery, the vehicles must not touch each other
  • e) Make sure that the selector lever is in the "P" position (in case of automatic transmission).
  • g) If the booster battery is not a maintenance-free battery, remove the vent caps from it and cover the holes with rags.

Connect the red jumper cable from the special kit (cigarette lighter) to the positive (+) terminal of both batteries (see picture).

Connect one end of the black jumper cable to the negative (-) terminal of the booster battery. Connect the other end of the black jumper cable to a reliable ground point on the vehicle you are jumping, such as a bolt or bracket on the body.

Start the engine using the booster battery. Allow the engine to idle. Disconnect the cables in the reverse order of their connection.

Connect the connecting wires in the numerical sequence shown (please note that the negative cable of the auxiliary battery is not connected to the negative terminal of the discharged battery)
